Personal Branding from the Inside Out and the Outside In
Nancy Marshall, CEO of Nancy Marshall Communications and The PR Maven®, presented this dynamic presentation on Wednesday, September 9, at the Maine Women’s Network, Androscoggin Chapter, meeting.
Nancy’s presentation covered reputation management and the importance of creating your own personal brand. Her 12-step program details how a personal brand originates in your own heart and mind, but is leveraged by consistent messaging.
Marshall explains, “All business is based on relationships between people. Defining your unique personal brand adds value to everything you do by making you stand out among your competitors and assuring that those who need your services will remember you and think highly of you as a person. I have developed a 12-step process to help people define and communicate their personal brand, and I am eager to share it with the Maine Women’s Network.”
Marshall to Moderate Two Panels at Mainebiz Momentum Convention
Nancy Marshall, CEO of Nancy Marshall Communications and The PR Maven®, moderated two panels at the Mainebiz Momentum Convention on October 9 at the Cumberland County Civic Center. The panel discussions covered the topic of business progression.
The two panels included Kalevi Kotkas of Clark Insurance, Derek Volk of Volk Packaging, Frank O’Shea of Berry Dunn, and Jim Wellehan of Lamey Wellehan Shoes. In keeping with the convention’s theme of “Transformation,” they talked about succession planning in multi-generational family-owned businesses. They also discussed ways in which they have kept their brand relevant with their customers and how they have engaged their employees to provide superior service to their customers.
Marketing for the 21st Century Workshops
On August 13, staff from Nancy Marshall Communications and presented a series of 30-minute workshops at The Senator Inn and Spa in Augusta. It covered: How to use your website to grow your customer list; developing a description of your products or services to attract the ideal customers; ways to engage your customers through email and social media to build long-term relationships; leveraging the power of PR to build credibility and word-of-mouth marketing; positioning yourself as an expert in your field to attract media attention and loyal customers; and the importance of creating a marketing communications plan, strategy and budget to generate measurable ROI.
Nancy presented four speaking engagements in April as part of a series for the State of Maine ConnectMe Authority on how businesses can grow by using the internet. She talked about the importance of an up-to-date responsive website, growing your customer list, increasing engagement with your targeted customers and prospective customers, and defining your brand story and key messages, as well as using social media to engage in an ongoing dialogue with your brand followers.
The presentations were highly interactive and included a glossary of internet marketing terms. The presentations were at multiple locations at the same time and you may wonder how — these presentations were all linked through the state of Maine’s ITV technology, which shows the power of broadband internet.
